Hi ,
Today is the last day to register for It Calls to Me: An Act One Seminar.
I’ve received some questions, so let’s get right to the Q and A.
What will I learn on the seminar?
You’ll learn how to:
- use archetypes to quickly establish characters and encourage viewer identification
- align your story beats to the Hero’s Journey in order to ensure maximum story impact
- continually and effortlessly raise the stakes before the real adventure has even begun
- execute the five commandments of storytelling
- elegantly establish world-building without info-dumping
- and much more!
What stories will be analyzed during the seminar?
We are going to review the first act of:
- Moana (in detail)
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone
- The Matrix
- Star Wars: A New Hope
- The Wizard of Oz
What platform will the seminar be hosted on?
The seminar will be a Zoom video call. You will be able to join via computer or phone.
Is this a pre-recorded video course?
No, this will be a live online seminar. You will be able to interact with me and ask questions about both the material covered and your own manuscript.
When is the seminar taking place?
Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 1 pm to 4 pm Eastern Standard Time.
What else does registration include?
Your seminar registration includes a one-page analysis of your manuscript’s first act (up to 20, 000 words) following the seminar. This is the kind of critique you would normally only get from me as one of my one-on-one clients.
How do I register?
Make your payment here. Following the payment, you will be sent the log-in information for the seminar.
When should I register?
Immediately. Today is the last day to register, so do it now.
I’ll see you on the seminar!
Your pal in writing,
Kevin T. Johns, writing coach
