Meet Your New Biggest Fans

Published: Tue, 02/06/18

Hi ,

In my last few emails, I told you about Writer’s Craft Academys one year anniversary, and how proud I am of the video training library and book club we’ve created.

But now I want to tell you about the most essential part of Writer’s Craft Academy: the community.

Academy members join me on a group coaching call, every single week, to ask questions, discuss challenges, and share victories. We also have a private Facebook group where we continue to share information and help each other out between coaching calls.

I’ve seen Academy members get so much benefit from being supported by other writers in our group. I’ve also seen them enjoy being able to share frustrations, celebrate victories, get differing perspectives, and bounce ideas off one another.

Writer’s Craft Academy is NOT one of these online communities with hundreds and hundreds of members where no one really knows each other. We’re a tight-knit community, which allows us to create a safe place where aspiring authors can come together and get what they need, when they need it.

Of course, sometimes “what they need” is an ol’ kick in the butt and some accountability from me. But other times, what they need is confirmation other writers are going through the same struggles they’re going through. Still other times, they need a place where they can go and say, “Hey, I finished writing Chapter 22 this week. No one else in my circle of family and friends understands what an accomplishment that is, or how far I’ve come from when I was struggling so much with Chapter Two six months back. But I know YOU understand. You are my biggest fans.”

When I look back on writing my first novel, publishing my first book, and figuring all this stuff out by myself, I realize one of the major things I was missing was a community of practice. The opportunities that open up when your network grows are incredible. For example, a Writer’s Craft Academy members will say, “Oh, so-and-so, I know you live near New York. Look at this awesome writing conference really close to where you live. Maybe you should check it out.” That’s an opportunity the aspiring author might never have known about if they hadn’t been part of this community of writers looking to help each other out.

Like I said, I wrote my first book entirely on my own. I spent months hitting Google and searching blogs post for answers. “How do you make a CreateSpace account?” “How do you get an ISBN number?” “What makes for a good chapter and compelling protagonist?” “How do you create a writing habit?” All that stuff, I had to struggle through alone.

Writer’s Craft Academy members don’t have to go through it alone. They have a place where they can go to ask questions and get answers.

If you're tired of toughing it out on your own and would like to join our incredible community of aspiring authors, now is the time to do so.

We’re having a one year anniversary sale this week. Use the coupon code “anniversary” on the checkout page, and you’ll get 50% off your monthly membership.

(Please note: That’s not 50% the first month; that’s 50% off EVERY month for as long as you are a member!)

Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your network and meet your new biggest fans.
