Hi ,
Confession time: I'm not the biggest fan of sitcoms.
Sorry. Re-runs of Friends is just not how I want to spend my time.
But I'm not being judgemental!
I totally understand the reason why people might
enjoys sitcoms.
There is something undeniably wonderful about giving yourself over to a masterful entertainer after a hard day's work.
But the thing is...
I get the exact same experience of comfort and wonder from webinars.
Plus, I actually LEARN something in the process.
Can you say the same thing about an episode of 2 Broke
Girls?
To me, it's totally thrillling to spend an hour or two listening to a genuine expert who is happy to share free information with me in exachange for my willingness to listen to a potential pitch of some kind at the end of the presentation.
Beats watching car advertisements! Am I right?
And that's why I spent almost two hours this weekend watching Jason B. Ladd's latest webinar on how
to get book reviews.
The presentation was informative, entertaining, and I'm almost CERTAIN it enriched my life more than an episode of The Big Bang Theory would have.
You won't just get an awesome webinar jammed-packed with useful information...
You will also get a free copy of Jason's audio book!
How cool is that?
(Pretty damn cool, given audio books sell for like $25 buck on
Audible!)
Anyway, speaking of the joys of audio, I'm not too humble to say I've been putting out great episode after great episode of The Writing Coach podcast this month.
Don't believe me?
During the conversation, Jennie describe:
- Why she finds offers of quick-fix solutions to writers craft so frustrating
- What she learned from her writer father
- The moment she decided to turn down a multi-book contract offer from a traditional publisher
- Why a writing retreat once asked her to “tone down” her intensity
- The reason writers need to get good at
asking for what they want
- How talent can often get in the way of storytelling
- The non-linear nature of writing
- And much more
Give it a listen now!
Your pal in writing,
Kevin T. Johns, writing coach
P.S. I hope you had an AMAZING St. Patrick's day yesterday, and that you have spent today appropriately recovering!
