I have a Master's Degree in English Literature, and even though it's been over a decade since I left grad school, there's still a quote from the English poet and artist William Blake I think about often.
It goes like this:
"Those who restrain their desires, do so because theirs is weak enough to be restrained."
I've never wanted to be one of those people, a muggle, a corporate drone, just one of the forgettable masses.
From as young as I can remember, I've wanted to be a person not just filled with passion and desire, but someone with the strength and conviction to pursue my goals
with unrestrained abandon.
Today, more than ever, I seek to surround myself with similar people -- people with an unstoppable passion to create.
Which brings this email around to YOU.
You want to be an author.
You have a desire to live the writer's life.
You have a story within you itching to get out.
You wouldn't be on my email list if it weren't true; somewhere within you is a spark of creative passion that led your life and mine to intertwine.
DO NOT let that spark go out! Embrace it! Stoke it into a roaring flame of creativity.
Too many people give up on their dreams because they lack the information, support, and community necessary to take the steps required to achieve
them. I don't want that to be you.
Don't restrain your desire.
