3 tips for conquering writer's block

Published: Fri, 11/07/14

Hi ,

Every week my podcast co-host, author Catherine Brunelle, and I release a new episode of Ottawa WritesI don't normally email to tell you when a new episode comes out, but this week's episode is special!

In addition to the frank and honest conversation Catherine and I have about the financial realities of life as an artist (hint: it aint pretty!), we also interview Kate Hasbrouck, the author of Homecoming. Kate shares how she landed her literary agent and traditional publishing deal, and provides her top 3 tips for smashing through writer's block.

I consider this a special episode not just because Kate is a fantastic author, but because she is also a member of The Novel Writer's Blueprint Mastermind group!

The Mastermind has been up and running for a couple of months now, and its members are producing amazing work and supporting one another in the spirit of community.

Just last week Masterminder Charvella Campbell released a new book. Others have finished short stories, established author platforms, and are supporting one another throughout NaNoWriMo! It's an amazing group of creative and passionate writers, and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of it.

If you are interested in hanging out with folks like Catherine, Kate, Charvella, and the rest of our Mastermind gang (including Steve, Deborah, Doug, Jason, and Kathryn) on our bi-weekly Google Hangouts, I've re-opened the early bird pricing (50% off!) for this weekend only.

Your pal in writing,

Kevin Johns
